FAQs for when Slack isn't working correctly or displaying the information you expect to see
Objective & Key Result names or descriptions don’t show completely
Slack has limitations on how text fields are shown. For this reason, the name, description and comment fields are reduced in length.
Shared key result message doesn’t show up on the channel
In some cases channel or conversation information might not be available to apps within Slack. In this case you could choose another channel to share to.
Shared link doesn’t show preview
If the link content isn’t supported, you will be able to see a generic link preview within Slack. If this isn’t shown, you can verify that link previews are enabled by going through “Enable or Disable Link Preview” section.
Enable / Disable Link Preview
Once your Slack account is connected to Tangible Growth, our Slack app will add preview to links related to TG. This feature can be enabled or disabled by using /preview on or /preview off commands, or by clicking the Enable preview or Disable preview buttons within Slack app’s Hometab.
Note that link preview is enabled per user and previews are visible to each person within Slack workspace. Do not share links that contain sensitive information into channels that have users that you do not want to share your information with.
Unable to connect accounts
If the account connection page gives an error after going through authorisation flow, you can refresh the page. If the error still persists you can also try connecting accounts through other means, see How do I connect TG in Slack:
Unable to receive notifications through Slack
If you are not receiving Slack notifications even though notifications are enabled in your TG user settings, you can enable them through Slack.
Via Tangible Growth
Your user settings can be found by clicking your name on the top left corner within Tangible Growth. From the Notifications option you can toggle different types of notifications on or off. Remember to click Save once you are done.
Via Slack
You can enable and disable Slack notifications by using /notifications on and /notifications off command to Tangible Growth app. You can also access this option from within your Hometab by clicking Enable notifications or Disable notifications under Settings.
Unable to update Key Result
The Current Progress field within the Key Result update only accepts numerical values. If you input any other value you should see the following error message - Status is invalid. Please input a numerical value. If this isn’t the case, then update through Your OKRs in Tangible Growth and please let us know via success@tangible-growth.com.
Wrong Objectives or Key Results in Hometab
Verify that you have the right period listed under “Your Objectives & Key Results” in your home tab. If the active period isn’t the current one, please let us know via success@tangible-growth.com.
