How can I change my organization from hierarchical to a fully matrix capable structure?
TG currently offers two organizational structures: Hierarchical and Matrix. In the Hierarchical model, team members are limited to belonging to one team at a time. On the other hand, Matrix teams allow users to be part of multiple teams and even request access to teams (this feature needs to be enabled by TG support), which team managers can then approve or reject.
To move a team from line teams to virtual teams
WARNING: deleting teams is an irrevocable action. Dread carefully.
You can move a team from line team to a virtual team through these steps
- Select the line team you want to move
- Write down the team ID
- Remove users from the team and delete it
- If the same users will be used in the new team, take note of them as well.
- Create a new Virtual team
- Put the previous team ID as the new teams ID
- Check the team, you should now see a new team with the old teams Game Plan and OKRs.
- You can now continue to add the team members to the team.
